Week of March 30, 2020
Word Study: We will continue to use Spelling City to learn new words. If you have forgotten your logon information, please let me know. Not all members of the class completed the assignments that I posted for the previous two weeks, which is o.k. since we were not officially in school. Consequently, I have extended the time for those assignments and posted the quizzes for those who have finished the assignments. As a reminder, please do not refer to your words when taking the quizzes.

Reading:
For reading, your assignments will usually appear in our Google Classroom for Reading (code: kmcqsyk). This week's assignments are listed under Reading Assignments for March 30, 2020.
Writing:
On the last Friday that we had school, I sent home two Storyworks magazines for you to read. As part of this, I provided organizers for you to write two opinion essays. One was "Should Your Recess Be Longer," and the other one was "Should You Invite Everyone to Your Birthday Party." Once again, you were not required to write these essays. However, if you did and you would like to type your essays and submit them, I created two Google Docs for you to do that. You will find the Docs in the Google Classroom we have used for Writing. If you wrote the essays by hand, you may be able to drop them off at school, but I do not have information about doing that at this time.
Your writing assignments will be in our Google Classroom for Writing. One of the web sites that we will be using for writing is Learnzillion.com. I have created an account and will give each of you an enrollment code for you to log onto the site.
Social Studies:
We have been reading and discussing some interesting topics in social studies. I asked you to complete the quiz on the last chapter that we read about (why and how European settlers came to North America). I think that you will be able to drop the quiz off at school at some point, so if you did not finish the quiz, please do so.
This week we are going to read a very interesting story about The Lost Colony of Roanoke! Please sign into our Google Classroom for Social Studies to learn more (code: ar7em2y).
Math:
For your math assignments, log onto our Google Classroom for Math (code: a6guzin) and click on the document titled "Math Assignments, Information, and Links for March 30, 2020." This document contains the links and assignments for this week.
